The breasts tend to elongate and lose their contour with aging, loss of skin elasticity and gravity. Common contributing factors are pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes, or hereditary factors. A breast lift both lifts and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and lifting and tightening the underlying breast tissue to reshape and improve breast contour and firmness. The result is a rejuvenated figure with a breast profile that is youthful and uplifted.
Your private consultation at Atlanta Face & Body will introduce you to the procedure which is performed with a partner surgeon and center. In the breast lift procedure, excess skin is removed and the areola and nipple moved to a higher position. In order to reshape the breast, skin is brought together around the areola. Generally, the stitches are placed in a vertical shape around the areola, and then extend down along the breast’s lower crease.
After the surgery, your breasts will likely feel swollen, uncomfortable, and bruised for a few days, and there will be some mild pain. You will also be wearing a surgical bra or an elastic bandage over the gauze dressings.
Due to swelling, you may temporarily lose some feeling on your skin and nipples. This numbness will usually fade away over the course of a few weeks.
