Dr. Elizabeth recently experienced a very special milestone in her career. While it’s an absolute honor to be named as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly at any point in your career, earning that distinction for 20 years in a row – as Dr. Elizabeth has just done – is nothing short of amazing.
As the founder of Atlanta Face & Body, Dr. Elizabeth has been called the “Queen of Faces” by many of her patients. She has performed more than 5,000 facelift procedures and countless other medical aesthetics treatments throughout her career. Despite the fact she’s had 20 years to get used to it, Dr. Elizabeth says the delight of such a recognition never gets old.
“I strive to provide the best care possible for my patients in addition, of course, to creating the results that improve their quality of life and how they view themselves,” she said. “That’s why being named Top Doctor is such an honor. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years running now.”
Castle Connolly’s recognition is considered by many physicians to be a legitimate category of excellence in American medicine, helping patients find the best and most qualified medical practitioners available to them. Once again, for 2022, Atlanta facial plastic surgeon Elizabeth Whitaker, M.D., F.A.C.S., has been selected as one of Castle Connolly’s “Exceptional Women in Medicine.”
This distinction is based on outstanding accomplishments and dedication to the field of medicine. Recipients are recognized annually based on peer nominations to honor those who contribute to the advancement of healthcare through clinical care, research, community service, education, and leadership.
Dr. Elizabeth is included among other remarkable women in a publicized list that details information about each physician, their accepted insurance, medical facility affiliations, training, and specifics on expertise in each of their profiles.
“It is always humbling to be recognized by other doctors for an honor such as this,” she said. “Our focus, of course, is on our patients and how they regard our work, but having other physicians take note of what we do is always a thrill.”
Castle Connolly is a resource patients can turn to find trusted, quality care. The Castle Connolly “Top Doctors” list, which covers all 50 states and all major specialties, is based on nominations from doctors themselves. A physician-led research team then thoroughly screens each nomination to ensure that every doctor meets rigorous standards. Doctors cannot pay to be part of this list; they have to be nominated and evaluated.
In addition to the “Exceptional Women In Medicine” list, Dr. Elizabeth has also been on the Castle Connolly “Top Doctors” list for the last 15 years.
