Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner / FNP-C
Jeanie Nguyen is the kind of person who developed an inclination to care for others early on. As the oldest of five siblings, she’s essentially had a “caregiver” mindset from the start. Her inherit protective and nurturing attitude serves her well as our injectable and wellness maestro at Atlanta Face & Body.
Jeanie is immensely proud to support Dr. Elizabeth in providing crowd-pleasing injectables like BOTOX® and dermal fillers, as well as hair restoration, weight loss injections, peptides, and more. Her prowess as an injector is a fabulous resource for our clients as Jeanie expertly and lovingly guides them to the results they crave. She undeniably possesses the talent and skill to produce beautiful results that keep our clients coming back for more.
But before Jeanie became the “syringe savant” she is today, she started out in a bit of a different direction. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Jeanie developed a passion for taking care people in more of a professional capacity. That inevitably led her to the nursing field. She attended the University of South Alabama in Mobile, where she earned two undergrad degrees, the first in biology and the second in nursing. From there, she moved to Savannah, Georgia and worked in the ICU at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
When the COVID pandemic hit, she felt called to become a travel nurse to serve on the front lines in different locations. While she excelled in that role, Jeanie eventually decided to reevaluate her professional direction.
“I decided to make a change,” she said. “I thought I was going to be a bedside nurse forever. That’s how much I love taking care of patients. But I just began to feel like my talents would be better utilized elsewhere.”
Having an interest in the beauty industry for much of her life (even working as a professional manicurist for a time), Jeanie decided that medical aesthetics might be just the ticket to more fulfillment.
She returned to her alma mater at University of South Alabama to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner. While going through clinicals, Jeanie earned her Laser Registered Nurse certification and worked at a practice performing advanced laser hair removal, IV therapy, and neurotoxin/filler injections.
The cherished connections with her patients during that time only solidified why she chose to make a change.
“I always loved patient care and building relationships with people,” Jeanie said. “The biggest thing that I love about my nursing career, especially in aesthetics, is I’m able to experience the patient’s life throughout their journey. It’s not a one-time thing; it’s a lifelong thing.”
When Jeanie moved to Atlanta, she discovered Atlanta Face & Body and met with Dr. Elizabeth. She just knew right away it was the perfect place to grow something special, and Dr. Elizabeth would be the perfect partner to work alongside and help that growth blossom and flourish.
“I love to always learn and grow. That’s why I moved to Atlanta in general,” Jeanie said. “I have very much of a growth mindset. In aesthetics, everything is always evolving and changing, so there’s always new technologies and techniques. What I really like about Dr. Elizabeth is that she is a very wholesome, humbled human being, even with all of her certification and experience. She’s a wealth of knowledge that I just love tapping into.”
Jeanie’s extensive educational background and years of nursing experience meld well with her knowledge of aesthetics, allowing her to continue to exercise her innate talents on all platforms.
“Aesthetics is one of those things where you have to have creativity but an artist’s eye,” she explains. “At the same time, it’s important to have that perfectionist medical knowledge to treat the patient to the best of your ability. The fact that I’m able to be in a career where I can be creative and still use my science background, this is where it intertwines perfectly.”
When it comes to her spearheading of the wellness options at Atlanta Face & Body, it’s important that patients understand that Jeanie is not only a nurse injector, but a nurse practitioner as well. Therefore, she has more than her share of know-how as far as guiding patients through the numerous facets of such a specialized domain, all while fostering those cherished personal connections.
“Wellness is such a big space, so educating the patient is of the utmost importance,” Jeanie said. “In many cases, you can’t explain everything in one consult. That’s where the building of the relationship comes in. We need to open that conversation and keep it going.”
In her spare time, Jeanie enjoys staying active with a myriad of activities, ranging from snowboarding, rock climbing, roller blading, working out at the gym, hiking, exploring waterfalls, and more. She also loves spending as much time with family and friends as possible.
